Seacamp is currently hiring for Science Instructors. Seacamp is located in Big Pine Key, Florida, in the beautiful Florida Keys. We are currently looking to fill positions for our Summer 2019 season. Seacamp is a private, non-profit, residential program that operates a marine science/SCUBA camp for 10-17 year-old students in a camp setting during the summer. Newfound Harbor Marine Institute is our environmental educational organization offering programs from September to May in marine science to visiting elementary, secondary, college, and adult groups. Seacamp just celebrated our 50th summer and is accredited by the American Camp Association. Seacamp offers a beautiful environment in which to work, educating and sharing with youth and adults the marine ecosystem of the Florida Keys. Staff members enhance their career potential through comprehensive staff training programs. Extensive training includes science seminars; American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding, Oxygen Administration, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer; skin diving leadership and Rescue Diver (for currently certified SCUBA divers only, during our summer program); seamanship and boat handling; camp life; and teaching techniques. Benefits: Salary/Stipend, housing, meals when participants are in residence, extensive physical and academic training, various American Red Cross certifications, workers' compensation insurance, and use of recreational equipment during time off.
Requirements:
Must have a college degree in the biological sciences, environmental science, education, or related field. SCUBA certifications strongly preferred. All applicants should be strong swimmers and should have a desire to work in a residential, community setting_
