Company / Organization: OCEANX
Description:
ABOUT OCEANX
OceanX is a mission to explore the ocean and bring it back to the world. We will combine fearless science and with compelling storytelling. Our goal is to evoke understanding, passion and stewardship of the world’s oceans. We unite researchers, scientists, and filmmakers and employ cutting-edge technology to create and share compelling stories about the ocean. We are intent on making a measurable difference in the way people experience and value the oceans and marine life. Our state-of-the-art research vessel enable manned expeditions into the ocean depths to reveal and document its wonders. Missions integrate scientific exploration with visual storytelling. The products of our efforts are original scientific research and immersive, multiplatform media productions. We are creating powerful experiences and seek global reach. Some of our prestigious partners include the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, American Museum of Natural History, BBC, National Geographic, and James Cameron.
What motivates OceanX is that the oceans are our world’s largest, most important and least adequately explored natural resource. While 94% of life on Earth is aquatic, only 5% of the world’s oceans have been explored. Exploration is the key to expanding our understanding of and connection to our oceans. There is much left to discover about our oceans that can impact human life in many ways. OceanX will lead the charge in exploring this next frontier. Our work aims to inspire people around the world to have a deep and personal connection with the oceans. OceanX shares compelling stories through various platforms, including digital channels, television series, Giant Screen films, immersive experiences in museums and science centers, live broadcasts, etc.
Our flagship vessel, Alucia 2, will be an unparalleled state-of-the-art resource for ocean research and educational media.
