3rd Mate Join the PPLP team! We are an equal employment opportunity employer. Employment Phoenix Processor LP has open positions for Mates on board our fish processing vessels MV Phoenix and MV Excellence. The vessels operate both in the Bering Sea and off the coast of Oregon and Washington. Mates rotate throughout the year during our 9 months of fishing operations, typically working 6-7 months per year. The initial contract for this position would be for an approximate 90 day period with an option of returning for B-Season Hake fishery in the summer and fall months. The start date for this position would be close to the second week of January in 2020. This is a watch standing position. Other duties include management of safety equipment, safety training and vessel documentation as assigned by the Captain. At a minimum you earn a daily wage with a bonus based on production. After 60 days you qualify for health benefits and after one year, LTD and enrollment in our 401k plan. Travel benefits to and from the ship from anywhere in the United States. Requirements:
Making a living at sea requires a special kind of person. This is a physically, mentally and emotionally demanding work place. Contract periods can be as long as 90 days with limited time in port during the contract period. You must be able to work independently and as a team. You must have a current USCG MMC, USCG 3rd Mate License or UFIV Mate 5000 - STCW 95, current STCW Medical Certificate and TWIC. You must have experience related to your license level and fishing industry experience is preferred.
