Blue Robotics specializes in designing and manufacturing underwater robotic components and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Our mission is to enable the future of underwater exploration by providing high-performing marine robotics components at an accessible price point. We're a growing team of 40 people encompassing product design, manufacturing, software development, sales, marketing, and support. At Blue Robotics, we have some of the coolest customers out there - they are exploring shipwrecks, studying marine creatures, collecting ocean data, and advancing human knowledge of the oceans. Meeting our customers' needs in a timely, knowledgeable, and efficient manner is of utmost importance at Blue Robotics. We're looking for a Community Manager to engage with our ever-growing community of designers, makers, programmers, and engineers. In this role, you will empower our community by inspiring curiosity, innovation, and oneness in ocean exploration and you will support those seeking to understand and protect our waters. Beyond troubleshooting issues, you will be responsible for ideating new projects with our community, encouraging show and tell of new designs, offering advice for difficult problems, and recommending products for potential solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Moderate, encourage, and engage in public conversation with the community • Bridge network connections by engaging in related communities and forums • Maintain customer-facing documentation and user manuals • Gain a thorough understanding of our products and help customers troubleshoot problems • Work with community members to develop application-specific solutions and provide product recommendations and advice • Provide after-sales technical support to users and maintain internal feedback with other departments and responsible engineers • Direct users to additional resources and information if their questions are beyond the scope of technical support
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will meet all of these requirements: • 2+ years of being part of an online community forum • 4+ years of experience or education in a technical field • Customer service and technical support experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Forum moderation experience • Embraces challenges and enjoys working in a "start-up" environment with fast-paced changes, occasional chaos, and a sense of urgency • Lifelong learner • Experience working with remote/virtual teams • Ability to read and understand technical documentation relating to product hardware, component datasheets, schematic diagrams, and software documentation • Ability to investigate and diagnose mechanical or software issues • Familiarity with embedded electronics and software (i.e. Arduino, Raspberry Pi) is a plus • Familiarity with Blue Robotics products is a plus Physical Requirements: • Working from a computer for most of your shift. • Occasionally lifting and carrying components that can weigh 30 lbs or more. • Occasionally working from a boat or near the water.
