Application Deadline: 15-Mar-23
Description:
The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for a 0.75 FTE 12-month academic faculty position. This 0.75 FTE 12-month position approximates a traditional 1.0 FTE 9-month instructional role, but includes security and benefits often not included in a 9-month position, such as paid vacation time and year-round income. We seek a colleague who will serve primarily as an Instructor (90%) in the Oceanography program, and also as a Program Coordinator (10%) for the CEOAS Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site Program. As an instructor, the successful candidate will develop and deliver on-campus and Ecampus courses in Oceanography as consistent with their specific expertise and programmatic needs. Courses may include: biological, physical, chemical, and/or geological oceanography; biogeochemical cycles; coastal ocean process; and human impacts and interactions. As a Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist with student recruitment, reviewing student applications, matching faculty mentors with student interns, arranging program logistics, and developing cohort building activities as part of the summer REU Site program. Additionally, the position provides opportunities to engage with students through student research projects and internships, and serve on student committees.
