Spend your summer exploring the coastal environments of the Eastern Shore of Virginia through the lens of your camera! The Photography & Videography Intern will play an essential role in capturing the essence of a multi-faceted environmental education center during its peak season. This position is ideal for an ambitious, outgoing, and creative student who has college-level experience in photography and video making. The Photography & Videography Intern will work directly with the Marketing & Development Coordinator and the Marketing & Outreach Intern to develop content for Chincoteague Bay Field Station’s Bay Blog, social media outlets, and their website. Interns will gain experience working with a thriving organization, building a substantial portfolio of photography and videos, and will have the opportunity to learn about the use of these elements in fundraising and marketing campaigns.

Requirements:
Responsibilities:
• To create interesting and consistent media content to showcase and promote CBFS’s multi-faceted environmental education programs. Platforms will include: CBFS’s Bay Blog, Facebook/Instagram/Twitter, YouTube, CBFS’s website, print pieces, and outreach displays.
• To create a series of short videos about CBFS’s school programs, summer camps, college programs, adult programs, family programs, student research programs, etc.
• To work with the Marketing & Blogging Intern to utilize CBFS’s social media sites in a professional way that is consistent with the branding of the organization.
Qualifications:
• Outgoing and willing to interact with and interview people.
• Excellent photography/videography skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with blogs and major social media platforms.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
• College-level experience with photography/photojournalism/video.
• Preferred: Some course work focused on writing, journalism, marketing, photography, or the like. Willing to work with candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm and potential.
