This program opportunity lets interns experience two different programs based at Mote Marine Laboratory Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Restoration and Research. Internships durations are January through June and July through December. Applications are due May 1 for the July start and October 1 for the December start. The intern will begin in the land based Coral Restoration Program, and after a duration of 3 months will transition into the Coral Health and Disease Program to intern for an additional 3 months. In order for an applicant to qualify for this position they must be comfortable dedicating a minimum of 6 months total duration at Mote's Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration (IC2R3), located in Summerland Key, FL. The applicant should also be comfortable performing husbandry tasks outside as well as fine-scale lab work inside. This allows the intern to get a deeper insight of coral restoration practices through multiple facets of restoration and have a prolonged exposure to working in a professional Molecular and Microbiology laboratory setting. Requirements:
No previous experience is required, laboratory experience is preferred. Must be currently enrolled in University or recently Graduated.
